If there was something really worth watching during the second premiere of Carmen Georges Bizet, then it was a unique performance by mezzo-soprano Ester Pavlů in the title role. Tall, attractive Ester Pavlu, she is a charismatic figure, full of femininity, and her Carmen can reliably control women's weapons. A well-placed voice of beautiful color is ideal for the role, and the refined way of its singing interpretation reveals careful work with both the accompanist and the language coach.
